Honey Cinnamon Popcorn

Okay, so I haven't posted for a while. I had a really bad eating day Friday last week that included chocolate cake and pizza. After eating all that I gained back 3 lbs and now have lost that 3 plus one more. Stupid pizza. It is my one weakness. If I am over at someone's house and they order pizza I have a very very hard time saying no. I have banned pizza from my house unless it is my healthy whole wheat pizza that I make. Anyways, I have been eating super good since Friday, (besides french toast on Saturday from Kneaders), and have been working out way hard. I have gone walking every morning. I just try to walk at least a mile and as long as there is a park my son can play at for 15 minutes he is happy to go on a walk. Well my recipe for the day is Honey Cinnamon Popcorn. It is my favorite. I eat it almost every night while watching a movie. It is super healthy too. I love it to snack on at anytime of day. I also sneak it in to a movie theater instead of buying the popcorn there with a pound of butter on it. My husband hates it when I make it because my 4 year old loves it and when we eat it on the couch you can't help but get some on the floor. He claims that he has to clean it up off the floor every single time we eat it when in reality I am the one vacuuming it up. lol.

Honey Cinnamon Popcorn

1/4 cup of popcorn kerrels
1/8 cup of coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 cup honey

I pop the popcorn kernels in coconut oil on the stove top in a skillet. Once they are all popped I drizzle the honey on top then sprinkle the cinnamon on. You can add as much honey, cinnamon, or coconut oil that you want. Also you can buy bagged no butter or salt added popcorn that you  pop in the microwave and then just melt the coconut oil in the microwave until melted and drizzle that on top as well.

I end up eating the whole big bowl to myself. So yummy. I just make myself some tonight.

Stomach pains and apples

So yesterday was pretty horrible. I got the stomach flu thing that my son got. I didn't throw up at all but I also didn't have any desire to eat anything because my stomach hurt so bad. So yesterday I ate two bananas and that was about it. My husband didn't feel good either but still made dinner for the kids which was spaghetti o's and grilled cheese sandwiches which isn't the best meal but I didn't eat anything and I didn't have to cook so I can't complain. So now I am 3 pounds lighter since Thursday thanks to a day of no eating. I am sure I will gain some of that back. So now I don't have anything really to put down of what I ate yesterday. What I have really been craving is something deep fried or covered in sugar, which brings me to my healthy recipe of the day, Peanut Butter Caramel Dip. I love to eat this when I am craving something sweet and fattening, and it takes about 5 minutes to make which is awesome!!!

Peanut Butter Caramel Dip:

1/2 c All natural peanut butter with no sugar added. (I buy the Adam's brand)
up to 1/4 c pure maple syrup
2 heaping T ground flax seeds
1 apple sliced

Put first 3 ingredients into a bowl and mix together until combined. Start with 2 T of maple syrup and add a little bit at a time until the sweetness is to your liking.
Cut up apple and dip into caramel. This is the best ever! I make double the batch and put the rest in the refrigerator in some tuber-ware.

Last night my son decided to wake up at 4 in the morning and was throwing up every where. Poor kid. He hasn't keep anything down since and just sits on the couch saying to me that he doesn't feel good. Well throw up and I do not get along so well. If I see or hear someone vomit I start to gag. So this morning, after cleaning up Ethan's mess I could not eat a whole lot. All I could do was breath slowly to not throw up myself. So since that happened I wasn't able to make this super yummy chocolate pudding this morning but I will have to save that for another day. On a happier note I am down 2 more pounds. Yay! Been exercising like crazy and eating good.
My work out today was trying not to vomit. lol, and so far for food today I had:
Breakfast: Cutie orange
Snack: none
Lunch: a piece of whole wheat bread with a little almondaise (takes then place of mayo), avocado, and cucumbers. Plus a couple of bites of some homemade Chicken Alfredo I really wasn't suppose to have.
Snack: Home made granola
Dinner: We'll see if I can eat by then

My favorite thing to eat is a veggie sandwich so that is my recipe for today

Veggie Sandwich

2 pieces of whole wheat bread
some almondaise
avocado
red pepper
cucumber
sprouts
olives
pepper
and whatever vegetables that you want.

slice everything and put on bread. Enjoy.
This is so filling and you do not miss the meat. If you don't have almondaise (which I make my own) then I would just top it off with some olive oil and apple cider vinegar.

Diet gone Crazy

{source} So this is Ellie. Jamie's amazing sister. jk. I am going to be writing on this blog too about my way to my goal weight. I have been on a 70% raw diet since the middle of Janurary. I have lost 23 lbs so far. It has been hard but good. I eat fruit in the morning, snack on more fruit or nuts, salad with some awesome homemade salad dressings for lunch, snack with some raw treats, or more fruit, then a steamed veggie, salad, and maybe some meat or pasta for dinner. My husband calls me a rabbit because I eat so many fruit and vegies. My fridge now looks like the produce department, and I have everyone in my house eating more fruits and veggies. When I was first taught this way of eating by Cythina Sumner, an amazing nutritionist, I thought it was crazy. Who could just eat fruit in the morning for breakfast??? How is that filling??? Well let me tell you that it has been amazing!!!! I have so much engery, sleep better, have a better attitude, and have been getting full faster. Plus fitting into my clothes better is a nice side effect. Anyway, so I just want to put how my eating has been and my work out I did and how I feel on here. I might just post some recipes too.
   Today I had
Breakfast: Green smoothie, some homemade granola, plus a couple of strawberries.
Lunch: salad with tomatoes, broccoli, and avacado.
Snack: two cutie oranges.

I also worked out at home for 30 minutes doing the P90X, Kenpo. It is fun but now my arms are sore. lol.

Well here is my recipe for the day:

Green Smoothie:
These are so good for you and they load your body full of the mirco nutrients that your body needs. It is always my go to for a pick me up if I am feeling sluggish or feel like I am starting to get sick.

2 cups of water
3-4 cups of spinach (or any leafy green. I like spinach because you can't taste it as much)
1 banana
1 cup of frozen strawberries
a little bit of honey (optional)
some ice cubes

Blend all together until smooth.
I have used kale in it but the taste is a little bitter. Raspberry leaves are so good too but expensive. I haven't experimented a whole lot but I would NOT do cucumber with almond milk. I tried that and it was NASTY!

Thats it for me
Peace out

Waffle Iron BREAKFAST!!

Tyler surprised me one morning with this beautiful, super easy breakfast! He filled 2 squares with waffle mix, 1 square with an egg, and the last square with a piece of bread.
He closed the lid, waited until that cute little green light came on and said, "Ready!" then he had:  2 waffles, toast, and a fried egg.
What a genius.....
No wonder why I married him!

Hope this tid-bit makes your mornings go a little smoother too  :)

The joy of having 2 girls?? ............................. wait for it.................MATCHING TOES!!! :)
As if the picture didn't give it away, your wandering eyes to the all caps words probably did, haha.

I was wasting time surfing the web when my oldest girl, Maybelline, kept trying to get my attention. I was pretty zoned out! Until she fell and needed a Mommy's hug :) Then I realized that I need to stop wasting time and start ENJOYing time. So I pulled out the neon pink nail polish (this picture doesn't do the neon justice). We painted away! Making a huge mess all over Rosie's toes since she wiggles so much :)
I'm so glad I took the time to play dress up with my little sweeties!

Welcome to Love @ Home!
Here I plan on blogging about life. My sweet, hectic, fun life. I will touch on many topics (as my life doesn't revolve around one thing- but maybe it should! that might be easier ;) ). Things like decorating, organizing, DIY ing, cooking, meal planning, crazy kids, and sweet hubbys!
I am hoping this will be a record of sorts of my life. A kind of online journal since my paper journal sees a pen as often as my legs see the light. :)

So welcome!
